Thanks for Praying!

I wanted to send out a short post, updating everyone on the situation here. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail, but I wanted to reassure you all that we are safe. In the past couple of weeks, several prayer requests went out, asking for prayers for protection for the people of Magdalena and our missionaries here.

When a particular instance happens, we are encouraged to seek shelter, lock doors, stay inside and possibly even stay in interior rooms. Gates are locked and we feel safe on campus. In cases where our people are in town, they are asked to notify our lead safety person of their location and seek shelter where they are. Praise the Lord that we have not been in the middle of anything and things seem to have calmed down for the time being.

It was exciting to be able to hold EXPO Esperanza today and Lord Willing, tomorrow. Our dog Indi also birthed 11 puppies during this tumultuous time. Both events have kept our kids occupied to where it feels like they don't have the time to mull over the severity of these disruptions. God is impecable at timing!

Overall, we still feel the blessing of living here and doing life. Life looks a lot different for us than 5 or even 3 years ago, but I just want to praise God for the work He is doing in our lives. He has used the people here and these events to draw us to Himself. I especially feel the strong desire of teaching and rearing our children to Know God and His Perfect Plan.

We would strongly desire your prayers for continued protection from evil, desire to serve those in our town and community, wisdom to know how to guide our children and joy in the journey!!

Thank you for sharing this update, as you have been on our hearts since we heard of the uptick of gang warfare there in Magdalena. We are thankful for God's protection, and for Expo and the pups !

"Deliver us from all evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen"

Love and prayers,

The Schrocks
