Shortly after Andy had clued me in to being called to Magdalena, MX, HarvestCall put together Missionary Card packs to distribute to our churches. The intent was to be able to have a concrete reminder in front of us that caused us to think of the missionaries out on the field and to pray for them. We signed up to receive one and once we did, we shared it with our kids. We wanted to be able to explain to them what a missionary was and some of the hard things they experience so we knew how to pray for them. It was our desire that we would start bringing our kids around to the idea of missions before we suddenly sprung it on them. "Hey, we're moving and we're going to be far away from your friends and family but don't worry about a thing, because God is in control." That seemed confusing.

So after supper, we make a point to read a kids Bible story and then go through the missionary card pack one by one and pray for a different single/family each night. The kids have gotten a lot more familiar with those at CVE through this card pack. When we visited CVE in June, the kids pretty well knew most of the kids just by recognizing them. They did extremely well while we were there. Clayton asked if we could move then??

Malaya was the most scared to think about picking up and moving somewhere and she told us that several times. One day in April, Glenn sent us a link to an Our Daily Bread broadcast and it talked about "Leaving". We played it at the supper table for the kids. Malaya said "That was really good." "What was really good?" "That story, it made me feel so much better about moving." I've tried and tried to find that link to it so we could listen to it again. But I haven't been able to locate it. If anyone knows which one I'm talking about, please email it to me: theotts08@gmail.com .

God is working in our kids. He is working in us. Blessed be His Name.
