Popping on today to share a quick story.

I like things to happen.

Last fall, we started looking for a "new to us" van. Scoured AutoTrader, Cars.com, etc. to find out price ranges and mileages.

Had been making progress on our van fund. Andy's bonus that Christmas got us within reach.

Fast forward to March, we told Kent we were wanting another Honda Odyssey and to be on the lookout for us.

First week of April, he calls and said he has one on the lot. Had all the options we were looking for, was a very good price and I liked the color. So we test drove it for 2-3 days. It seemed like it was "IT".

However, I didn't feel peaceful about it. Buying a vehicle is a pricey decision. I didn't want to make the wrong decision. So we decided to pass on it. And I grieved. "This is so silly! It's just a van. There are a bazillion other ones out there."

It was a busy time for us as we were opening up Hillside and I didn't want to rush into a vehicle decision. I knew we were making the right decision, but why did it feel so painful? I remember talking on the phone to an older friend and she encouraged me that God had a better van out there for us.

This is not ours, but looks exactly like it.

Fast forward about 4 weeks. I was browsing Lighthouse's website and there was another Odyssey. It was the exact same color, had all the options we wanted and bonus! a Navigation (which will be handy for Arizona/Mexico). And did I mention fewer miles? For the same price? I had to think back to what my friend had told me and how God had indeed brought a better van to us.

If I hadn't listened to the unsettledness and pushed forward, I would've missed out on the better van.

So all of this to say, I know God has a plan for why we are still here and things aren't moving. We could've left earlier, with a lot of things left unfinished, and been facing some hard moments. But God hasn't given us the go ahead to move yet. His Timing is better than ours.

How has God provided a "better" for you? Comment below, I'd love to read it!
