*****Today I heard a still small voice tell me to let my kids tell about Pura Vida from their point of view. It's my goal to have each of them share thoughts and pictures from CR. If it goes well and there's not too much teeth-gnashing, they may become regular writers on here.***** Erin
Hi, my name is Sierra. I am living in Costa Rica. You might be thinking why? That is a GOOD question. I am a missionary kid. If you do not know what that is, it is when your parents go to a different country to teach others about Jesus, so I moved to Costa Rica to learn Spanish because we are going to go to Mexico.

So, I am going to tell you about our trips to places! {and the things we did!}
the first trip we went to was the volcano it was very cool !!!! then in October, we went to manual Antonio!

My Ott cousins and grandparents got to come to Manuel Antonio with us in November.
This month we are going to a beach with me, my parent's grandparent's aunt and my friends!!!!!! A big thank you to the people who helped us move and who helped us get used to Costa Rica!
One thing I like about CR is that it is so beautiful here! The mountains, beaches, and wildlife are all so amazing.

I like the school we go to. I met two good friends there. One is Emrie and one is Daniela. Emrie is from Texas and Daniela is from South Carolina, but she moved here when she was 6 months old and is a Tica! Emrie is in the grade above me (so 6th) and we made up a cool handshake. Daniela's parents were living in the US while Daniela was born. She is super nice and knows English and Spanish.

This was my teacher, Miss Jimena. She recently left the school and this was our last day together. My whole class was crying, we really miss her.
Learning Spanish has been challenging, but it is one of my favorite classes. Math, Social Studies and SSL (Spanish as a Second Language) are my classes in the Spanish Language. The others (English, Science, and Bible) are all in English. I like learning about the Bible in School. One time a week, we go to the Chapel on campus and sing songs and learn something the Bible teaches.

Our friends...Emrie and Ezekiel live just down the road from us. Eden isn't pictured, but she is Malaya's friend.
I like the house we are living in. There are lots of rooms, so I get my own room! It's across the street from a park. There's a small corner store that we go to a lot. It's so so so so BIG!

This was at the Christmas Program at School. My teacher is sitting next to me. Clayton's teacher is down in the corner.

Maddie is the girl in the back. She left Costa Rica a few weeks back to go back to Oregon. We really miss her. She was like our big sister.

This was our first day back from Christmas Break. I was so ready to go back!
One thing I don't like about CR is at night we have to be very careful where we go. We always have to be with Mom and Dad so no one gets hurt. We walk together in a big group because they probably can't take all of us!!
Our backyard is super tiny. It's the only place we can play by ourselves and be safe. Well that's all I'm going to write. Hope you enjoyed it!
Sierra-- You have an interesting way of writing and you need to do it again! Maybe you can let us know what you have done since your grandparents and Aunt Elise have been there! Give your Mom and Dad a special hello from me! Beth Steffen
Sierra! Thanks for sharing about life in Costa Rica. I loved seeing the pictures and hearing about all the friends and teachers you have. I can't wait to come visit and see it all in person.
Enjoyed hearing from your heart, beautifully written Sierra! Love your pictures and this blog. We are praying for you and your family. Love you!
